
NZ Chinese Story Readings
Come listen to acclaimed Dunedin writers Eva Wong-Ng and Maxine Alterio read excerpts of their wonderful stories about Chinese people of the past in NZ. Eva’s short stories are based on the Chinese people in her life growing up in Auckland in the war years. Eva’s story Kwong Tou Uncle is featured in the UNESCO World of Literature network. Maxine’s best-selling romance novel ‘Ribbons of Grace’ is a fictional story of a Chinese woman living in Arrowtown in the 1860s. The book topped the national best-sellers list for several months in 2008.
