Artists background:

Abigail Rose (Central Otago)

She is trained in multiple circus disciplines in New Zealand,  discovering a passion for creativity and physical challenge in 2007. She was trained by Deborah Pope on Swinging Trapeze in New Zealand and then continued her training across Canada to New York USA.
She has spent the past 10 years performing aerials across Australia, Asia, Europe and Africa.
Abigail has been part of numerous teaching projects through schools / outreach programmes across remote parts of Western Australia and townships in South Africa/Rwanda. She specialises in Dance Trapeze and teaches across NZ.

Katelyn Reed (Wellington)

Katelyn is of Ngati Porou decent.
Katelyn Reed grew up in the Waitakere Ranges, started circus through The Dust Palace scholarship program, and then furthered her training full time at Whitireia Circus Program, gaining her Bachelor In Applied Arts. Katelyn specialises in Corde Lisse, and also trains Hand-balance, Contortion, Floor acrobatics and Juggling.
Her performative experience began in high school when she she got the opportunity to dance alongside Atamira Dance Company in Ruaumoko at Auckland’s Civic theatre, as part of the Auckland’s Art Festival, she also was part of choreographer Moss Patterson’s APO project, and has had the opportunity to perform in many shows and festivals including World of Wearable Arts and Cuba Dupa. Most recently Katelyn produced, directed and performed in her own new work that was part of Wellington’s Fringe festival.

Genia Colling (Dunedin)

Growing up,  Genia trained as a contortionist in Russia. She was part of the group contortion act that have travelled around the world performing at international Circus Competitions and variety of different shows.

Has worked for Big Moscow Circus company for 6 years, Performing a solo aerial lyra act with the Hula Hoop. She has performed with this act all around Russia.

In 2002 she went and worked in Tokyo for the Disney Company at Tokyo Disney Sea performing an aerial performance as ‘Ariel’ in the Little Mermaid show. She specialises in Lyra and works as a circus artist in Dunedin.
